Earlier today both 343 Industries and Gameinformer announced that Halo 5: Guardians will be the featured title for the magazine’s July issue. The prepared announcements revealed that Chief is now accompanies by the legendary Blue Team in both single-player and four-player co-op, marking this Blue Team’s first significant role in a core Halo game, and the timing couldn’t be more appropriate.
Blue Team steps in to fill the shoes left by our favorite blue character in terms of the stories narrative, such as character interaction and appearing in cutscenes, but also in the game’s mechanics as well. Similar to Delta Squad in Star Wars: Republic Commando, your teammates will accept commands during the single-player campaign. In co-op, everyone takes on a specific member, each with a different load out unique to their speciality, similar to the co-op mechanics in games like Dead Space 3 and Army of Two.
But it’s not all about Blue Team. The new Fireteam Osiris, lead by Jameson Locke, is set to track down Blue Team who have now been declared AWOL by ONI.
But wait there’s more!
Just like with the Rise of the Tomb Raider Gameinformer issue, the digital issue for July has been ‘shared’ for the public by rebellious subscribed individuals. I guess rules and service agreements don’t matter to people as much as they use to.
Unlike my detailed account of the ‘leaked’ digital Tomb Raider issue, I will simply be letting the images do my talking. All of the accumulated images that I know of (as of posting this article) will be posted below if you are interested in reading it for yourself, but I personally suggest waiting to get the shiny and amazing reveal during Microsoft’s E3 press conference.
