New Halo 5: Guardians trailer from Gamestop

A new Halo 5: Guardians trailer has been revealed featuring Spartan Locke, the covenant and details for anyone interested in pre-order bonus goodies. Players who pre-order Halo 5: Guardians from Gamestop will gain access to the exclusive Spartan Locke Armor Set (which we’re assuming is for multiplayer).

This news comes to us via Gamestop’s official YouTube channel, so there’s no word yet as to whether or not any other retail chain will have different exclusive preorder-bonuses similar to how Halo 4 did.

Now lets dissect this trailer. A lot of us will probably instantly recognize three seconds of this trailer since it was teased back in the first half of March, but now we finally get some context regarding where Locke is and what he’s doing.

The trailer takes place in an unknown covenant city that greatly resembles the description of Sanghelios. Obviously this isn’t confirmed, but all signs are suggesting that we may finally be able to play on the Sangheli homeworld.

We also learn that Spartan Locke is a Super Saiyan… Okay not really, but he certainly does move like one – which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who has read the books (this is how Spartans have always been portrayed). Diving out of Pelicans, crashing through buildings and tackling Banshees out of the sky looks even cooler than you thought it would.

All of the new Spartan Abilities are featured in the trailer, as well as a fair amount of environmental destruction. Halo 5: Guardians releases on October 27th exclusively on Xbox One.
