Halo and ASTRO announce their new partnership – New agreement brings branded headsets and more

Halo Astro announcement

Are you in the market for a new gaming headset for your Xbox One? Not a huge fan of TurtleBeach or Microsoft’s name-brand options? Well then this is your lucky day! It was announced earlier this afternoon that 343 Industries has entered a multi-year agreement with ASTRO Gaming! As part of an exciting new multi-year partnership with Halo developer 343 Industries  Skullcandy, Inc. and its division of ASTRO Gaming, will be developing several new products including branded headsets, speaker tags and more in support of the latest releases within the Halo universe.

Aron Dryer, VP of Marketing for ASTRO Gaming/Skullcandy Gaming, had the following to say on the matter.

“Few game franchises have ever pushed the boundaries of our imagination quite like Halo. With its robust online multiplayer features, compelling storyline, incredibly detailed gameplay audio and inspiring musical score — Halo delivers at every level.”

Are you in the market for a new gaming headset or mix-amp? Or is the partnership with Halo/343i enough of a reason for you to update your hardware? Let us know below!

I think I’m going to use Astro’s this generation!!!

Nah. I’m getting a bluetooth wireless Ear Force PX4 from TurtleBeach soon.

It’s $150 but I found it online for $100. I hope my card gets here soon. No way I’m loading money on to a temp number.

Anyway, hope they make good headphones for Xbox One. MS’ solution, no offense, is mediocre at best. $25 of that $80 you’re paying is for the included adapter (sucks that thing is so pricey).

And, for the love of gaming, PLEASE put cool Halo artwork on the outside. Unless you don’t like money.

I had a set of x41s now I use earforce px51s on my x1 and ps4 and tbh I think that turtle beach sets are pretty crap, the 41s suffered bad from interference so I bought the dual band px51s but I think the sound quality is pretty poor on them. Think my next set will be wired and not turtle beach.

I got turtle beach tango (black ops 2) really good headset and it’s dual band wireless too so no interruptions. but I think it may be time to invest in a next generation headset. PX4s are really good too friend of mine has them.

This pleases me immensely! However, since I’ve gotten use to playing my X1 without using a headset (i.e.: sound coming out of TV) I’ll probably not jump on the gaming-headset bandwagon as soon as I would have if I was never forced to not wear them in the first place.

The sound is nice, but it’s also expensive. Wires also get in the way (also hate charging batteries) and I like to be able to hear when somebody is calling for me.

My wife hates it when I’m wearing my headphones. I don’t here anything but the game :) Good for gaming, bad for spousal relationships.

I’m currently using my x41′s on both the Xbox one and 360, but I think I’m ready for some new cans for the new system.

The best way to deal with that problem is not having spouses! >:D

I just want a wireless earpiece mic for my One. I already trashed the wired one that came with it.
