We’re buying these three Xbox One games at launch, how about you?

shark-xbox-games

It’s Shark Week! Hence the theme of this story’s featured picture. While I’m looking forward to a week dedicated to one of nature’s most fierce predators, I’m even more excited about the Xbox One’s launch.

All pre-ordered and ready to go, I understand that a console alone doesn’t cut it. You need games! So, with that in mind, I’m highlighting three Xbox One games that I plan on picking up on Day One.

Killer Instinct

KI4

I know Killer Instinct is set to be a limited freebie, but I don’t want a piece of the game, I want the whole damn thing. I sampled the refreshed fighter at E3 and although I tasted a bitter defeat, the experience was quite satisfying. I’m looking forward to honing my skills and finding a character who best fits my style of play.

Battlefield 4

battlefield-4-2

Sure, the Battlefield 4 demo during Microsoft’s E3 conference initially had a few technical difficulties, but once it was finally up and running the game looked amazing. In a market saturated with first-person shooters, the Battlefield franchise has won me over in terms of cross-platform titles.

I can’t wait to take this game for a spin and can only imagine how many countless hours I’ll end up spending with its multiplayer.

Dead Rising 3

DR3-6

Definitely the wild card of the bunch, Dead Rising 3 has guilty pleasure written all over it. At first I wasn’t too enthused about this game, but a closer look at this sandbox, survivor horror title made me change my tune. I’m looking forward to crafting some over-the-top weapons and taking down hordes of zombies grindhouse style.

So, that’s my list. Does it look anything like yours, or are you looking forward to a completely different trio of games? Perhaps you’re a big spender and my meager three games isn’t enough for you. Maybe you’re balling on a budget and you can only afford one or two games at best. We wanna know!

Be sure to share your Day One purchase plans and let us know what games you’re looking forward to picking up.

  • Vincent M. Lenzi

    BF4

    • bizzy gie

Me too. 66-man multiplayer is just too good to pass up.

Plus I want to see how that commander system works.

      • TomDobo

64 man and two commanders which will be on tablet/smartphones

        • bizzy gie

          66 in all.

Sad to see that the commander system is tablet-based though.

          I don’t have a smartphone or tablet.

          • TomDobo

I have an iphone like but commander mode doesnt excite me in the slightest

          • bizzy gie

It depends on how it works. If I can tell people what to do and where to go, that’s much more appealing than a dog or a mech suit.

          • TheRedButterfly

But then there’s the “issue” of people actually listening to the commander… I missed out on Battlefield 2, so idk why everyone’s all excited about it… Hopefully I’ll see. :)

I have to disagree with you about the Titanfall comparison (100% right about CoD though)… The players interacting with the Titans, both as pilots and as other Titans, should be very interesting! It’s like vehicle warfare, something that BF/Halo achieve greatly, but with the added dexterity of a humanoid figure. Plus the way that they can be swarmed/hijacked by foot soldiers will probably lead to some amazing little skirmishes between one Titan and 2 or 3 Pilots. Simply my opinion though.

          • ImperialAgent

Yeah Titanfall looks great. Levels look interesting with little paths for pilots to weave in and out of. Will be an interesting game of cat n mouse. Pilots seem pretty powerful too.

          • TheRedButterfly

That’s probably what I’m most excited about – The Verticality. The parkour-esk wall-running and double jumping (etc.) will no doubt add a very new and [hopefully] very enjoyable element to the competitive multiplayer scene.

          • ImperialAgent

Running rings round a Titan would be very satisfying (if it worked out).

At the end of one of the trailers a pilot cloaks as its running towards a titan so that might be in there. It’ll be interesting to see what other weird powers or weapons are included it’s looking really interesting so far. Though invisibility can lead to cheap kills so I don’t like it in some games but if it’s not OP then it should be ok with a bunch of pwers on offer.

Gonna have a very steady flow of great multiplayer shooters from launch and throughout next year.

          • bizzy gie

I guess enforcement would be a concern, but it’s exciting because you can TELL PEOPLE WHAT DO!

Seems cool, but I don’t completely understand how it’ll work.

Never played BF before. I have Black Ops 2.

BF is new to me in general and 66-man multiplayer seems too good to be true when I’m accustomed to 12-man multiplayer.

          • TheRedButterfly

. _ . YOU NEED TO PLAY BATTLEFIELD!!! It’s nothing like CoD (outside of the fact that it’s a military shooter), and that’s a good thing! The players and weapons act and function as they really should…
            >Infinite sprint by default instead of your player being able to dash for a few yards
            >Hurdling over obstacles instead of your player awkwardly jumping a few inches off the ground
            >Accurate bullet-drop and leading times instead of the “point and pull” gameplay that COD offers
            >Reasonable/Body-Part specific weapon damage instead of being killed by a round in the foot from a sniper rifle
            >Massive, dynamic and evolving maps
            >Vehicles
            >More vehicles
            >Did I mention vehicles?
            >What about base-jumping out of a collapsing skyscraper?

            > ^ < It's sooo good! I was used to the 16 player cap that Halo has always offered, and when I first picked up BF3, I didn't seem to notice that much of a difference, but that's probably because it only jumped up 8 players, but even more importantly was because of the fact that since the maps are so large, it isn't exactly easy/normal to see more than 5 or 6 teammates at a time (except on the close-quarters maps of course).

With the way that BF4 is looking, you're in for a wonderful surprise should you decide to pick it up. :)

          • krayzielilsmoki

that narrows you down to the 12 to 15 year old range. Why don’t you just tell us how old you are. I am 26 years old with a bachelor in accounting and I work as a workforce analyst so I fully understand the reasoning behind the business decisions Microsoft has made so far. You have done nothing but contradict yourself which gives you absolutely no credibility on the website.

          • bizzy gie

I don’t own a tablet or smartphone because of a tight budget.

It’s very immature to tie owning or not owning products to age.

            I don’t contradict myself.

As far as the business decisions thing, that has nothing to do with what I posted.

  • bluSPECTRE

So far I’m getting Battlefield 4 and Forza 5, but I’m still not completely sold on Forza, so I may change it to Dead Rising 3.

    • bizzy gie

Get DR3. That game is truly unique from the rest of the next gen games.

There are so many racing games coming out.

The Crew, Forza 5, Need For Speed: Rivals, DriveClub, Gran Turismo 6, etc.

      You get my point.

Get DR3. That game us going to be awesome!

      • xdlugia

GT6 is not next gen and DriveClub isn’t on Xbox One. Anyhow Forza easily beats NFS, and probably The Crew as well, but we don’t know for sure.
Forza 4 is without a doubt the best racer on the market to date, but The Crew looks incredibly promising.

        • ImperialAgent

Yeah, The Crew does look fun. I’ll probably get Forza but I’m definitely keepin my eye on that one.

        • bizzy gie

          I know GT6 isn’t next gen.

Forza beating those games is your opinion.

That Forza 4 thing is purely your opinion in which I highly disagree.

I know DriveClub isn’t on Xbox One.

          • xdlugia

Yeah, but the point was which games that people could buy on Day One, which of course aren’t PS3 or PS4 games.
And about Forza 4 being the best is pretty much a fact: It’s the highest rated racer of this gen and the vast amount of content in it is bizarre, and every part is polished too!

I have played a lot of racers, and I have yet to see one that can match Forza.

          • bizzy gie

            It’s not a fact.

It’s your opinion no matter how you cut it.

GT is the best selling exclusive on PS3 and sales speak louder than reviews because it means real, everyday people like the game as opposed to some 40-year-old reviewer who hasn’t gamed since Atari.

Does that make GT factually better than Forza?

            No way.

          • TheScienceEnthusiast1130

            @bizzygie1:disqus

            Still trying?
            LMFAO
            LMAO
            LOL

  • Joel

LOL! Street Sharks. I remember that cartoon.

I’m probably gonna get PS4 at launch, but damn, really like how Xbox One is stepping up one exclusives.

I’d get Killer Instinct and Zoo Tycoon.

  • Ducked

Won’t be buying right at launch, but first three games I’ll be buying are…

    1: Dead Rising 3
    2: Battlefield 4
    3: Forza 5
    (see what I did there)

    • Joel

      Genius.

      • Ducked

        Why Thank You xD

        • kevin nun—-

          you’re buying an xbox one?

          • Ducked

            Yeah…

    • xdlugia

      I did see it.

      • Ducked

These are actually the three games I getting too

    • Deezy

yeah i saw what u did there but…

      Forza 5
      Battlefield 4
      Dead Rising 3
      with an included Kinect 2
      on an Xbox 1
(did YOU see what I did there?)

  • HyperionLight

    1. Ryse: Son of Rome
    2. Forza 5
    3. AC 4: Black Flag
    4. Watch Dogs

    • ImperialAgent
      • Laud

        Oh yes.

        X, X, Y, B.

        I did so much.

        • bizzy gie

          Tap A.

          *misses que*

          Yes! I hit him!

          • Ducked

Hopefully Ryse won’t turn out like a ZombiU..

          • Tom Hoskins

In what way do you mean? I loved ZombiU, I have never feared death in a computer game before playing. I actually was scared at what was around the corner, would it kill my character and all I had worked towards.

          • HyperionLight

The gameplay was good, but sales weren’t so good and there was even talk about a sequel.

Taken from the ZombiU Wikipedia page

In May 2013, the game’s developer reported that work is underway on a prototype for a sequel.[23] However,
in July 2013, Ubisoft head Yves Guillemot stated that ZombiU was not profitable, and as such there were no plans for a sequel.

            It’s a shame really.

          • Tom Hoskins

It is a shame as it has been the best game I’ve played in the past year (not that is a great number of games, but includes AC3, Tomb Raider, Ni no kuni, The last of us).

But, I’m not sure Ducked is saying he hopes Ryse isn’t a great game that doesn’t sell well enough for us to get a sequel. I am interested to know what doing “a ZombiU” is!

          • HyperionLight

Didn’t even see that “a” there.

          • Ducked

I mean it looks like a great game, but I hope it doesn’t end up failing like ZombiU did. I wasn’t a big fan of ZombiU, neither were critics..

          • Ducked

I admit it was a scary game, but the storyline was boring, and I hated the control scheme. The game got slammed by critics as well, and sales were mediocre…

          • Tom Hoskins

You hated the control scheme!?! Fair enough, i thought it was excellent and helped to make the game as enjoyable as i found it.
As for the critics, i thought the ones who slammed were playing expecting a cod experience and were dissapointed with the slow paced nature. I argue that in order to build tension and suspense you need a slower pace, which, for me, they did a superb job of.
At the end of the day zombiu did badly due to negative reviews (that i feel are undeserved) and slow console sales.

          • Ducked

I’d still like to see a ZombiU 2 if they could take out the mistakes they had with ZombiU

          • Jon

yeah, I liked the game but… it did get boring, it was fun for a couple of hours I found but it needed a bit more to it.

          • Veries Seals

I totally agree! I am loving it. It actually scare the piss out of you! It has all the mechanics a good survival horror game should have. If they would have spent a little extra time on the environment textures it would have been stunning. They should have called the guys at Criterion and got the skinny on high res textures on Wii U. Those guys aced the Wii U with NFSMWU

          • HyperionLight

Could you clarify? What exactly did you mean by “like a ZombiU”?

          • Ducked

I mean one of those games hyped for the system, and then ends up failing. ZombiU got a lot of negative reviews..

          • ImperialAgent

I think it’ll be a good game but even if it doesn’t turn out to be great I can’t see it being a flop sales-wise tbh. Simply because it’s an easy sell with those graphics, stylish combat and quality cinematics and voice acting. The game stands out and will appeal to a lot of people.

          • HyperionLight

Could you imagine this game with an oculus rift?!

          • ImperialAgent

            lol could be amazing :)

          • sd

ZombiU…one of the best and most hated games of all time by me. It was reviewed badly because it was buggy and because other reviewers made comments like ” this shooter has little action”.
I loved this game right up until the game breaking bug struck when I uploaded the panacea. The worst thing was I emailed Ubisoft and it took 8 emails for them to agree there was a problem. They just kept saying they dont offer game advice. After waiting 2 months for a fix i sold the game. I think its fixed now, but it was such a shame. They never even apologised for the serious bugs or contacted me when an update was released.
Without the Bugs this game was 10/10 for many people. With the bugs it was screwed. the other reviewers just didnt understand what a zombie surviva game was.

          • HyperionLight

Yeah even the devs were shocked by the amount of negative press.

A good game until the bugs, as sd mentioned. Without the bugs I would give it an 8/10 and I’m not even that much into survival horrors, but you know bugs…

          • bizzy gie

Yeah, but Ryse isn’t a rushed, lazy game so it has no excuse.

          • Veries Seals

I have actually been playing zombi U lately. Its really a good game. super edge of your seat good. but thats just me. but i do like it. i hope the sales increase for it this holiday so they will make ZombiU 2

        • HyperionLight
        • ImperialAgent

They’ve said the combat at e3 was a place holder system so that they could get a demo ready in time. That’s perfectly believable. If e3 is coming up don’t just say “f*ck e3 we’ll just develop the game and ignore e3″ no unless you’re retarded you get a demo of a level ready in time. That’s important. So we simply have to wait and see what that turns out.

Secondly although I criticised it at first for a couple of things (didn’t like the onscreen cues etc) the combat does seem to be changing so what’s with this weird arrogance from gamers when talking about this game. Originally it stems from the general negativity towards the xbox one and any of its exclusives but now its getting ridiculous… how many games have extremely complex combat? how many games full-stop are complex? Plenty of games feature relatively simple combat… does simple = sh*t. That’s not necessarily my opinion tbh. How many people spent 100 hours running round skyrim? If you were a pure warrior (which is a perfectly legitimate theme for the game) then the combat is much MUCH simpler than this… and requires fewer buttons too. You say X,X,Y,B. You just named 3 out of the 4 face-buttons… Aside from that you can’t say how complex it is with different moves being done with button combinations etc or evades and using your shield. It’s never gonna be some super-freakin-dooper tactical game it’s a melee hack n slash with a few new things to it which is a genre that’s perfectly legitimate, millions have enjoyed and has been a part of the video game industry pretty much from the beginning.

Aside from that – open your f*cking eyes. Rather than using it as an opportunity to sound like some snooty arrogant snob why not take a moment to just enjoy the fact that this may quite possibly be the most graphically advanced game yet. Now that’s a *big* title but still it is certainly up there with the very few games that could challenge it. Whether it’s using Cry Engine 3.5 or 4 we don’t know but the lighting etc is phenomenal.

So yeah I don’t know how complex or advanced or amazing the combat will be. A lot of people really liked Arkham Asylum/City which was fairly simple but had it’s twists and innovations. If the combat was around that level of complexity would that be so bad? If you’re expecting Bayonetta or something yeah I think you’ll be disappointed.

If the combat is great then I’ll be happy if it’s a bit lacking then there’s still lots of quality in the game as a whole.

I think in the meantime we can still admire great graphics and fluid animation and at least hope that the game turns out well rather than using someone posting a gif of it as just another opportunity to try and sound cool while we criticise something. Ryse is one of the launch titles with the most potential so let’s maybe cut it some slack and wait and see eh?

          • Christopher Acuna

Rockstar has been skipping E3 for years and they are releasing possibly the most anticipated game of the year. So…I don’t know. Fuck E3. ;)

          • ImperialAgent

            :) fair enough

but for most developers and publishers that’s obviously unacceptable

          • Laud

            LOL Holy shit dude.

I was cracking a joke at quick time events, thanks for the essay but I think I’ll pass.

          • ImperialAgent

Well… pretty shit joke dude… Heard it lot’s of times before tbh

think we should give this game a chance rather than just repeat the same comments we’ve hear a thousand other people say before us…

          • Vincent M. Lenzi

I hope this is true because RYSE ail be great if it has the same fighting mechanics as games like Lord of the Rings or Assassins Creed

        • greengecko007

I can only wonder what you would have to say about this game if it was being published by Nintendo.

          • Laud

Well Nintendo wouldn’t do QTE like that and they definitely wouldn’t have shown it off if it wasn’t ready like some apologists are saying.
If they did do that then I’d crack the same joke.

          • greengecko007

What makes you think Nintendo wouldn’t do it like that? What do you have to base that on?

Oh, and Nintendo shows their games in the early stages, and also improves on them before the game comes out all the time. Pikmin 3 pre-release screenshots had low quality graphics, low resolution textures, and noticeably jagged edges on characters and pikmin. The reality is that game has graphics as smooth as a baby’s romp.

          • TheScienceEnthusiast1130

      1. Watch_Dogs

      2. AC 4: Black Flag

      3. Forza 5

      4. Ryse: Son of Rome

      • HyperionLight

        1. Ryse: Son of Rome

        2. Watch_Dogs

        3. AC 4: Black Flag

        4. Forza 5

        • bizzy gie

I was just sharing my priority order of the games listed (realistically Ryse would be nowhere on that list but I wanted to avoid the hate comments).

I’ll definitely get an Xbox One, but not until a year or so has passed.

As a consumer, I have to be smart and carefully watch the DRM-supporting company.

          • HyperionLight

No hate just curiosity what would you pick instead of Ryse as your number 1 game?

And what x1 exclusives would (will) you get?

          • bizzy gie

            Watch_Dogs.

I’m anticipating that game more than ANY Sony or Microsoft exclusive.

I can’t wait any longer for it.

            XB1 exclusives: DR3

            Project Spark

            Sunset Overdrive

            Halo 5

Titanfall (if I planned on getting an XB1 anyway, I’d hold off on the PC and 360 versions).

            Halo 5 if it’s out in a year’s time.

    • MonsterHunter387

I would get Watch Dogs if I already wasn’t getting it for Wii U. Not really interseted in AC4 since I don’t really like AC to begin with. Not getting Forza 5. Definiantly gettng Ryse

      • HyperionLight

I can’t decide between the Wii U and the x1 version of Watch Dogs …both have merits…although I do want to see what they’ve done with the tablet.

Yeah AC3 wasn’t the best (imho) I hope AC 4 will be better… if Project Spark was a choice I would pick that one instead.

Forza seems interesting and I want to see how much better is the AI when connected to the cloud.

        • MonsterHunter387

In getting Watch Dogs on Wii U mostly because of the off TV (if it has it) and to support the Wii U.

AC3 turned me off from the AC franchise. I also don’t like how they announced AC4 2 months after the release of AC3. Don’t know Project Spark is coming out. I’m thinking 2014

Forza seems intriguing but I’m not into realistic racing games. I’m more into racing games like Daytona USA

          • HyperionLight

The off TV functionality would be great, but can’t find any info regarding the Wii U version or how will the tablet be used, but I hope they include the off TV play.

I picked ac3 as it was one of the biggest games for the Wii U at the time and to support Nintendo, but never got around to finishing it. Maybe I’ll give it another try…

And about the ac4 announcement, yeah that was a surprise. I thought they would go the ac2 route and continue the story of
ac3 for a couple of years and then go ac4, but nope, not long after releasing ac3 they go and announce ac4 and if that wasn’t enough they go with a “next year” release date?!

I seriously hope they’re not rushing the game.

Spark hasn’t got a release date, but I hope spring or summer 2014.

I’m not a huge racing game fan, but there are people “nagging” me to get forza for the x1. So forza for the x1 it is.

          • Suraj Alexander

I totally agree with u man. the only reason i am getting watch dogs on the wii u is because of the off-tv play. so my parents can’t see me play

  • Tyler Hilton

    AC IV hopefully

  • ImperialAgent

    BF4, Watchdogs definitely.

Maybe Killer Instinct and Ryse too. I’ll definitely get them around launch but maybe 2 will be enough to start. Ryse is looking better and better every time I see it, cool combat and maybe the best graphics around. Probably Forza around then too not as big a racing fan as some so it’s not a priority but it’s been a while and it does look really good.

  • xdlugia

    1. Forza Motorsport 5
    2. Dead Rising 3
    3. Watch Dogs

  • TheRedButterfly

    1. Battlefield 4
    2. Ryse
    3. Dead Rising 3
    4. Possibly Forza, but I’ll probably just hold out for The Crew, as I’m not a huge racing guy, and definitely not a racing-sim guy.

  • Shane

I won’t be buying at launch, because college life..But my first games will be..
    1. GTA 5
    2. Project Spark
    3. Titan Fall

    • Arthur Hughes

GTA 5 has not been annouced or the new console gen.

      • ImperialAgent

Unfortunately :( Hopefully it will be.

        • Arthur Hughes

I would not be surprised if we saw a gta 5.5 on the next gen consoles next Christmas season.

          • Morris ヅ

with extra stuff plus all dlc

    • HyperionLight

I second Project Spark and Titanfall, but spark hasn’t got a release date and Titanfall is Q1 2014. Well I suppose it depends on when you’re buying the console, but still.

And yeah GTA V is ps360 only…for the time being.

      • Shane

Oh, sorry, well then Destiny or Watch_Dogs. Lol it’s fine, I don’t plan on getting the console for awhile anyway so I can wait for those release dates and 1 game usually satisfies me for a really long time. :) Thanks for the heads up sir!

        • HyperionLight

I’m the one who should apologize. Didn’t mean to act/sound like some kind of “game police force” just putting the dates for those games.

So if you decide to get yourself an x1 sooner than expected you could pick an alternative game or three.

Otherwise if those games were an option from day one…well I would need some (considerable) time to decide which games to pick for the first couple of months.

          Lol, sir…. who me? xD

And if it helped you in anyway, than it’s less duchy than I thought.

  • TomDobo

My preorder list for xbox day one edition is:
    Battlefield 4
    Forza 5
    Dead Rising 3
Killer Instinct (tester to see wether its worth buying)
    Watch Dogs

  • Jon

I am skipping battlefield 4 on all platforms, it is pretty much a repack of BF3. No real graphical update, no new gameplay, rehashed levels, etc. Look at the required specs, they are the same as BF3 except you need more of a hard drive space. BF4 is just EA’s get rich quick scheme. I won’t be buying the same game I can seen past their tricks.

    • Arthur Hughes

It must be tough being such a jaded douche.

      • Jon

I’m being a jaded douche? take a look at EA, they are simply releasing the exact same game and calling it a “new innovative” game created on the same engine.

        • Arthur Hughes

Jaded douche. You really have no clue how many games use the same engines do you.

          • Jon

I know lots of games use the same engine, but EVERYTHING ABOUT BF4 is pretty much the exact same as BF3, graphics are the same, game play is the game, control is the same, interface is the same, same interface, even the art style on the box is the same as the previous. minimal requirements and recommended requirements are the same, same graphics card types, same processors same everyone, only thing different is the hard drive space needed meaning they added a bit more to it. You are going to be playing the same game with new maps, weapons and vehicles. That is it, that is your “new” game

          • Arthur Hughes

You seem to be confused that this is the Xbox ONE daily. Requirements don’t matter. The graphics are a massive upgrade. going from 24-64(66) is a huge upgrade.

The Vertical element being added to the game is another massive upgrade. Also considering only a handful of people have played the game, and considering you have not you know nothing about it.

          • Jon

you’d think that would be reflected in the PC specs because well….. the PC will be superior in graphical capabilities…. and for the specs to not change or need to be increased for such a “huge improvement” really makes me wonder how much of an improvement this really is.

          • Arthur Hughes

PC graphics are scalable. but i guess your to jaded to know that.

          • Jon

lol, so you are saying that they are going to put an inferior version on the PC…. ROFL, you are pretty stupid, most of the sales of the game will come from the PC, not the Xone. They wouldn’t dare reduce the game for their largest market base. I know that graphics are scalable however when they say the recommended requirements, they are saying “use these to get a high quality experience for your gaming”. Which will be what is typically used on your systems.

          • Arthur Hughes

lol we have another idiotic troll. Battlefield 3 on consoles 13.5 million pc 2.45 million

            Get a clue jaded Jon.

Recommended settings are to typically low quality graphics with a decent fps. You really have no idea

          • Morris ヅ

            lol jaded jon haha

        • Morris ヅ

lol i fink bf4 is amazing compare to bf3 tbh

          • Jon

really? so you like the same graphics, same style of art, same gameplay. you pretty much have new maps, weapons and vehicles. don’t believe me, go take a lot at the two games side by side, look at the minimum and recommended requirements. They are essentially the same. This game is just a repack of BF3.

          • Arthur Hughes

            jaded douche

          • Morris ヅ

bf3 on frostbite 2 and bf4 on frostbite3 engine it looks better prob runs better aswell, im cod fan but after seeing bf4 i may move to it only thing is after i play them both il make my mind up on what i prefer but im excited for bf4 i must say…

          • ImperialAgent

Jon something to bear in mind though is that a better engine and a more optimised code gets more out of the same spec. For example some games (Planetside 2 for instance if I remember right) have pretty high recommended specs but aren’t necessarily using that spec as well cuz they’re not as optimised etc.

Aside from that I wouldn’t really say it’s a cash-in but yeah multiplayer shooters don’t typically change too much. They just get refreshed with new things (levels, classes, weapons, vehicles, game modes etc.) and get some redesigns and lots of tweaks. Obviously it’s completely fair enough if that doesn’t justify a purchase for you I get that but for a lot of people it’s more than enough and they can’t wait to get those new maps etc.

          • greengecko007

            1. The graphics are obviously improved, so you can let that one go.

            2. Same art style? Do you honestly expect them to change the art style every few games? Have fun waiting for Battlefield 4 ; Impressionist edition. Completely moot point.

            3. New maps, weapons and vehicles adds new gameplay. Learning how to use the new equipment, how to properly rush/ defend in the new maps, etc is a new way to play.

          • TheScienceEnthusiast1130

            @ikki5:disqus

            Troll much?

    • sd

I think sometimes it is good to skip a version. I havnt played BF since BF2, so for me BF4 should have enough tweaks and changes worthy of a purchase. Also I want to see what a next gen shooter starts out like. but yeah if it doesnt appeal then do not buy it.

    • HyperionLight

Not trying to start anything, just wanted to see if there was some truth to your words.

And indeed some levels do look similar, but you know the closer we come to realism the harder it is to see the differences.

Anyway here is an interview with the developer talking about frostbite 3

      http://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming/2013/06/25/frostbite-3/1

And some guy made a comparison video between frostbite 3 and 2

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HS0uytJuIlw

And I feel the same about EA, but the new engine is quite frankly an amazing piece of technology.
