Microsoft announces the Xbox One

After months of speculation, the Xbox One (yes you read that correctly) is finally here. The console itself bears a striking resemblance to its predecessor, while its controller appears to carry the same pedigree. You’ll find a Blu-Ray drive on the left side of the Xbox One’s front panel and an accompanying Kinect-like camera sensor. On the software side of things Microsoft’s new console appears to have confirmed the longstanding HDMI-in rumor, as the company’s Yusuf Mehdi demonstrated the system’s ability to switch from its dashboard to live TV through voice command. While an official release date has yet to be revealed, Microsoft announced that the Xbox One will be available later this year.

they make call of duty ghosts …. seem like its their game but its just a new engine not prioritiezed to xbox those visuals look like they can run on wii u and no better than watch dogs..

    • I feel like CoD has never been about over-the-top visuals. They do just enough to keep up with the times. I’m not really excited about ghosts, though.

    • Its the #1 played game on Xbox LIVE. So obviously they’re going to show support for the game and continue to expand the console to make the Call of Duty franchise better. I don’t know how they make it sound like its their game, but that’s just my opinion on the matter.

    That controller looks soooo uncomfortable…

    • How does it look uncomfortable? Its not much different than the Xbox 360 controller from the side by side comparison. The guide button is away from the select and the start button which is great if you’ve ever hit it mistakenly when going for the two.

  • I guess I get to experience the Kinect some what, now that its going to be in every Xbox ONE box.

I want a gaming console. Not a second cable box, I already have one. Not something that could play music, I already have one, it’s called an Ipod. I don’t want to have to wave my arms around the room and look like an idiot. I already have a Blu-ray player. I don’t want to have to pay to use the internet. The Xbox Done.
